Layered Earth Model

Model Earth internal layers using different colored clay to understand the structure of our planet.

What you need

• Clay or play dough in four different colors
• Knife or thread to cut
• A small round object (like a marble) to use as the inner core (optional)

How it works

This is a physical representation of Earth structure: Inner Core (solid metal), Outer Core (liquid metal), Mantle (semi-solid rock), Crust (outer rocky surface we live on). It helps children visualize the parts of Earth that are otherwise invisible.
