Displacement of Water (Archimedes' Principle)

What you need

- A transparent overflow can or another container
- Water
- A bowl to collect overflow water
How it works
When the object is submerged, it pushes water out of the container. The amount of water displaced is equal to the volume of the object. This is Archimedes' Principle, and it also explains why some objects float and others sink.
